These are hard times. Everyone's hurting, and it's hard to think about the needs of others when we ourselves have needs.
New Leaf understands that, and examined ways that people can help that are affordable and effective.
Although everything costs dollars at some point, helping is not always about money.
Below are some of the ways that you can help that won't break your piggy bank.
For advertising sponsors, we have supplied a rate sheet, as well.
- Sponsor a haircut Up to 125 customers will be serviced every second monday of the month throughout 2009. Only 1,050 $2.50 donations would cover the costs for the haircuts each month.
- Provide items for "glad bags"
- Needed items are:
- hygiene products (toothpaste, feminine products, mouthwash, clippers, first aid kits)
- balm and waterless hand cleaner
- sunscreens
- hand and foot warmers
- journals and pens
- cotton swabs, baby powder, soap
- diapers, jumpers, babywipes
- donate to buy bus passes
- pre-paid phones w/phone cards
- Subscribe to the Vimeo New Vu Channel
- share your own stories and events with us
- vote for your favorite video in the contest
- volunteer if you are local as a model or assistant
- volunteer to judge if you are a professional in the media arts industry
- Request our newsletter to stay up to date
- Participate as a guest stylist. (Put "Guest Stylist" in the subject line and submit portfolio).
- Schools - Larry’s is sponsoring student stylists from local affiliate schools as they move toward degree certification. We are currently featuring student stylists from Heritage Institute schools.
